Nun bin ich seit genau einem Monat und zwei Wochen in Kolumbien - und es ist unglaublich, wie schnell die Zeit bei den vielen Erlebnissen und Eindrücken vergeht! Mittlerweile glaube ich, dass ich mich schon relativ gut eingelebt habe. Ich fühle mich von Tag zu Tag wohler in meinem Projekt und unter den vielen Menschen hier. Die abenteuerlichen Fahrten mit dem Jeep hoch nach Montebello sind schon fast zur Gewohnheit geworden und mittlerweile I found my fun to me on the return journey back to the Jeep (assuming it is a driver in "reasonable" speed drives) to make, to enjoy the view and the wind ... We had such a chance to get to know all the teachers at rest and get some information about the students. A term to me but very stuck in my mind! The school is for children that is to be a place of peace and love by allowing them to be, above all free and without worry!

The following day I have as before with Fred and Jasmine, the third class in English, art and computer classes taught. It is also very tiring, even to third, which is probably because our language skills are in need of improvement. Fortunately I brought from Germany plays small blocks! Aber Schluss mit den Schauermärchen! Heute hatte ich einen wunderschönen Tag mit den Kindern aus der dritten Klasse im Zoo in Cali ...

already almost three weeks behind me and it is time that I once again let hear something from me. The first disease is over and there is a lot happened. Yes, I am fine here, and also about the food you can not complain. There are a lot of rice and cooking bananas (really tasty), far too much of it, but for an incredibly wide range of delicious fruit, which can hardly imagine a European! And if your wallet allows, you can see one here, even yogurt, chocolate and muesli treat ..

Here in Colombia is much happened. The first of the three weeks it was mainly a matter of resolving outstanding formalities and - most important - to visit the places used by all volunteers!

DieWoche on 100 construction projects, we have felt in my future project, the 'Colegio de las aguas', started. I was in the group that was responsible for build, flower boxes for the rain roofs. The first two days of the week however, we have spent us to dig through a floor strewn with stones to something there later to plant, of course, the materials for the flower boxes were not available yet!

The following weekend was totally deallocated. Saturday we were outside of Cali in the country, in Santander de Quilichao. There was an inauguration ceremony held by a "house" made of bamboo, which was built in cooperation with another Foundation for drug addicts and young children.

On Sunday we were once again the incredible difference between rich and poor here Colombia kept in mind. We were in the German school, colegio aleman invited, to celebrate the Day of German Unity. There was a lot of beer, sausages with mustard and bread, and potato salad. This, however, the German anthem was sung, and even the smallest children there, some were running around in a dirndl, but then seemed somewhat bizarre. True home I have not felt, for me it was a "posed" Germany, an artificial world, which in reality does not exist as it was presented. The food was still possible for a welcome change:)!

The following week was the first week, we have spent volunteers in our projects. Jasmin and I - we both work in the same project - have made this week with Fred, another volunteer who is, however, since only a few weeks, teaching the 3rd and 2nd class in English, art and computer classes, and a little German lesson for the students made. The classes are not comparable to a usual teaching in Germany. The children are often very anxious and just need so much attention. A little boy named Emanuel has captured my heart already. I gave him a few minutes geholfen ein Bild zu malen, das er anschließend mit viel Mühe ausgemalt und mir mit der Aufschrift: „Hola Elena, gracias para tu gran atencion, gracias“ geschenkt hat. Das bedeutet in etwa: „Hallo Elena, danke für deine große Aufmerksamkeit, danke!“. In diesem Moment wurde mir erstmals wirklich bewusst, wie unglaublich wichtig es für die Kinder dort sein muss, dass wir uns um sie kümmern, sie in den Arm nehmen und ihnen unsere Aufmerksamkeit schenken, eine Aufmerksamkeit, die sie von zu Hause nicht alle bekommen..

Am 21.09. we bought the land and have since 22.09. Owners of 1155 square meters of land, which must now make!

Yesterday we after much deliberation with respect to the facing bricks finally signed the construction contract. The planning application should be available for completion by the end of next week. However, certain changes are made to the plans and also we have not yet final for a front door and decided that the look of the window.
