Bad Schallerbach. For the second time I have in common with Alfred Klepatsch (former mayor of the community wind energy Hague in Freistadt) to speak at seminar Upper Austrian government for environmental experts held in communities.
The title "Between aspiration and reality - experience from local politics" promised much and gave us great freedom.
Straight to the environment in communities (and workshops) to make much progress, it is different (success) factors considered.
quality of life and environmental friendliness is closely related in many communities (assessed empirically!), But is often not perceived by the population. It is therefore important that citizens in projects and processes from the outset to be included.
are also important:
- projects that come quickly to success,
- build projects the mood
- public relations, interactive presentations.
The participants (mainly Environment Committee members from the communities) complained of exactly this shortcoming. Among the many activities that start (as is presently the energy project EGEM) lack of involvement of citizens.
